Getting More and Better Education
In the never-ending "Knowledge Bowl" with children around the world, US children just don't measure up. Study after study has appeared over the years suggesting that education in America is woefully inadequate for life in the 21st century. Politicians have been crying, Cassandra-like, since the Nation at Risk assessment in the early '80s. Now, President Obama and his education secretary, Arne Duncan, have voiced agreement with the doom and gloom, and they want to change it.
On Being Christ-centered
We ask a lot of questions in classical Christian education circles. You might say it's part of our DNA. And question that comes up again and again is: "What does it mean for a school to be a "Christian" school?" At Dominion, we might phrase it a bit differently. The word "Christian" is in our name, but we usually describe our school as Christ-centered. So, "What does it mean for our school to be 'Christ-centered'?"
